Sonoma County Sheriff Site Launched!

Well this week I have been really busy with that launch of the new www.sonomasheriff.org. I am very happy with the site and how well the feedback has been. We looked it up the other day and it’s been 18 months since I started this process, plus 6 months of background.
This new site has a bunch of great features that the Sonoma County residents will find very useful. One of those is “Live Events”, it shows events as they happen with the department and this was one of the big programs that they wanted to have available to the public. This new feature is something I find myself watching thought the day.
I went with Slideshow Director for the media galleries because it makes adding all this content simple and it looks great! This new site is has a ton of media and we are constantly adding photos and video on a daily basis.
I had been playing with creating them a new digital badge for there web site but they wanted to stick with the origonal badge so last night I made a sample badge for their explorer program. As of today no one has commented on it. Oh well…

I will continue to work with and support the Sheriff’s Department’s web site going forward and I couldn’t be happier. I am very lucky to be working with a great bunch of people.
We are going to start developing more features for the next version soon.
